  • Hip resurfacing procedure in Colorado at Littleton Adventist Hospital.

Hip resurfacing is actually a more complex surgery than hip replacement and requires a longer incision to accommodate the placement of a larger "ball" portion of the joint to prevent future dislocation of the hip. It is believed that this procedure can prevent pain and postpone a total hip replacement by approximately eight years. Total hip replacement is an option following this surgery as sufficient bone is left in place.
