2012 Press Releases
AEG Live and 97.3 KBCO join effort to raise funds for new Flight For Life Colorado helicopter
July 30, 2012 (Denver, Colo.) – St. Anthony Health Foundation, in conjunction with AEG Live and 97.3 KBCO, announced today that Sheryl Crow and Amos Lee will perform for Flight For Life Colorado's 40th anniversary and 97.3 KBCO's 35th anniversary at the 1STBANK Center on Saturday, October 6, 2012.
Sheryl Crow, a nine-time Grammy award winning artist, is well known for her philanthropy work. This will be her only performance in Colorado this year.
Blues and folk musician Amos Lee has played shows with Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Dave Matthews Band and Adele. His 2011 album, Mission Bell, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
Funds will go toward a new helicopter for Flight For Life with enhanced high-altitude capabilities, allowing medical crews to respond more quickly to emergency situations in Colorado's hard-to-reach mountain regions..
"We are grateful to work with Bret Saunders and 97.3 KBCO and Chuck Morris and his team at AEG Live. There isn't a better group to work with to raise awareness and funds for this valuable community program," Leslie Strate, president of St. Anthony Health Foundation, said. "Our goal is to reach everyone in need of medical assistance in Colorado and the nine surrounding states served by Flight For Life Colorado. Funds raised through this event will help us to reach that goal."
Flight For Life Colorado was the first hospital-based civilian emergency ambulance in the nation and is the air ambulance of choice for Centura Health, Children's Hospital Colorado, University Hospital, Arapahoe Basin, Keystone, Copper Mountain, Breckenridge Resort, several Search and Rescue groups and Outward Bound. Flight For Life Colorado relies on the contributions of generous donors. A patient's ability to pay is never considered when rapid medical treatment and transport are needed..
In addition to the anniversary concert, AEG Live, St. Anthony Health Foundation and 97.3 KBCO are hosting 'Rocky Mountain Ransom' on September 12, 2012. During this event, local personalities will be delivered to a nearby mountaintop with a cell phone and asked to raise $100,000 each for Flight For Life before they can be 'rescued' from the mountain. Confirmed personalities are 97.3 KBCO morning host, Bret Saunders, President and CEO of AEG Live, Chuck Morris, Denver restaurateur, Frank Schultz, President and Founding Partner of Brownstein Hyatt Farber and Schreck, Steve Farber, Founding Partner of Springer and Steinberg, Harvey Steinberg, President and CEO of Sage Hospitality, Walter Isenberg, CEO of Downtown Denver Partnership, Tami Door, Medical Director at St. Anthony Breast Center, Raymond Mencini, M.D. and others.
