     Outpatient Radiology/Imaging
           Littleton Adventist Hospital Mammography

     Emergency Department Fast Track
Littleton Adventist Hospital Children’s After Hours Care Center

Littleton Adventist Hospital has been named a recipient of the prestigious ENERGY STAR designation for superior energy performance for the second year in a row. This achievement recognizes our hospital as one of the most efficient buildings in the nation. Not only are we saving money with our energy efficiency but we are also doing our part to protect the planet by reducing the amount of greenhouse gas we release into the environment. Littleton Hospital was the only hospital in Colorado to receive this award.

The American Energy Assets On-Track Program for Littleton Adventist Hospital began recording our energy usage on March 1, 2006 and has reported a savings of $278,129 through November 2009. This year’s conservation goals are on track to successfully and continually improve our hospital’s environmental efforts.

ENERGY STAR eligibility requires adhering to the strict standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). To qualify for an ENERGY STAR, a building must score in the top 25% based on EPA’s National Energy Performance Rating System. Another guideline includes less energy use, which in turn means we save money on our energy consumption and create fewer greenhouse gas emissions than similar facilities. Commercial buildings and manufacturing plants account for almost half of all energy consumption in our country and are responsible for nearly half of our greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to global warming. We need to be aware of our contribution, both positive and negative, to our environment and work on making a difference for continued improvement.
