Medical Imaging

Medical Imaging (Radiology) Services are provided to meet the diagnostic and therapeutic needs of our patients as requested by a referring physician. Services are provided in the form of the following modalities:

  • General Diagnostic Radiology
  • Special Procedures
    • CT Scan
    • MRI
    • Breast Care
      • Mammography
      • Ultrasound / NIVA
      • Breast MRI
    • Nuclear Medicine

Patient care personnel enter physician orders in the inpatient areas into the hospital information system and requisitions are printed in the radiology department. Special needs and conditions are accounted for on the requisition so appropriate care can be delivered. The scheduling personnel in the medical imaging department receive outpatient orders. The patient is instructed to arrive in the department at the assigned time after checking in at the Outpatient Admission area. Exam results are available to physicians immediately following dictation by the Radiologist if needed. A typed and signed report by the Radiologist is sent to the physician office on all outpatients and a copy of the report for inpatients is sent to the patient floors to be placed on the chart.

The purpose of these services is to provide diagnostic imaging and limited scope recovery of the human body to help the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. All procedures and treatments are performed on inpatients and outpatients of all ages, encompassing neonates to geriatric patients. All departments are staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week either by permanent staff or on an on-call basis.
