Get With The Guidelines

Littleton Adventist Hospital's Stroke Center was awarded the Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Stroke Association for our stroke program. This award recognizes achievement in using evidence-based guidelines to provide the best possible care to patients through The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's "Get With The Guidelines" program.

"Get With The Guidelines" is a hospital-based quality-improvement program designed to ensure that hospitals consistently care for cardiac and stroke patients following the most up-to-date guidelines and recommendations. The program addresses coronary artery disease, heart failure and stroke. Currently more than 1,450 hospitals participate in the program.  The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's advertisement recognizes Littleton Adventist Hospital's commitment and success in performance achievement.

Target Stroke Honor Roll

Littleton Adventist Hospital's stroke program has recently been named to the Target Stroke Honor Roll by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. The criteria for Target Stroke is to give IV TPA within 60 minutes, more than 50% of the time, for one quarter (minimum of 6 patients treated). Littleton Adventist Hospital treated 5/8 TPA stroke patients within 60 minutes, April-June 2010. Collaboration between EMS, the Emergency Department, neurologists, CT, radiologists and pharmacy made this recognition possible.

Joint Commission Accreditation

Littleton Adventist Hospital was among the first providers in Colorado to be designated a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission. This title reflects the depth of our commitment to our program and our patients.
